It was at night, when most of us were already asleep, that our photography explorer Alex Bussenius wandered around town and shot these impressive views of sailing boats, the Erasmusbrug, the Wilhelminapier and the SS Rotterdam. Maybe it's time for more nightwalks.
I'm Alex, amateur photographer. Love my city Rotterdam. You can meet me everywhere and perhaps I will take a picture of you in one of the beautiful places of this city. You can find many of my pictures on my Facebook page: Lexie intruder.
Because of its rich past, the Hofbogen, officially the Hofpleinlijnviaduct, is one of Alex Bussenius's favourite spots in Rotterdam, a national monument and a location for exceptional entrepreneurs, coffee gurus and lovely restaurants.
This September the mural Mi have een droom was launched by Opperclaes. An 800-meter long painting over and under de Luchtsingel Rotterdam and Delftsehof with lyrics from the poem mi have een droom (Rotterdam, 2059) by Ramsey Nasr.
Explorer Alex visited Katendrecht, better known as 'de Kaap.' With the beautiful SS Rotterdam and the Fenix Food Factory and all its' lovely restaurants, like de Matroos en het Meisje, Bistrot du Bac and Delibird, Katendrecht is definitely worth a visit.
Our explorer Alex attended the opening of the new Skatepark at the Westblaak last July. The park was designed by the Finnish Janne Saario, landscape and skatepark architect, but also former professional skater. The area is a landscape of concrete which can be used by skaters, BMX riders and steppers.
With this post, Alex wants to share his love for the sport with the rest of the world. The most important message is that it doesn’t matter how you look, but mostly how much fun it is to run through Rotterdam, to be seen and encouraged!
Three brass bands: SLR, CEB and Dreamteam Brass Band at the streets of Rotterdam, a Golden Drum and over 50,000 spectators – that's the Battle of Drums. Explorer and amateur photographer Alex Bussenius was there at Hofplein to enjoy the show, during this year's Zomercarnaval.
Summer Carnival Street Parade was back this year! The procession of 2,5 km attract dancers from different cultures and nationalities and has only one mission: make everybode dance! Participants are dressed in beautiful and colourfull costumes. Explorer Alex photographed this largest Caribbean street party in the Netherlands.
