It's not that I don't enjoy the, what we call 'normal' life, but I feel way more intrigued by and comfy with literature. The imagination awakened by words is my perfect world and I will try to infect the audience with this fanatic love for anything that even resembles a story.
There are many novels set in Rotterdam. Each of them show another, new side of the city. For Rotterdam, I Love You, I will discuss some of these novels. Today, the classical story of Leve Joop Massaker (Long live Joop Massaker), written by Cornelis Bastiaan Vaandrager and first published in 1960.
Without a proper bookstore, a city is nothing more than a 'random' collection of people. Luckily for the inhabitants of Rotterdam there are quite a few bookshops. The biggest, and Davy's most cherished, is Donner (Coolsingel 119).
