The little treasures of Tony’s Garage Sale
I discovered Tony’s Garage Sale by accident when I was biking from Blaak towards Oostplein. It was a terrible, rainy day (surprise, surprise) and I went inside, had a chat with the friendly guy working there, and got myself a beautiful, Asian, vintage brooch. A good way to balance the day back to normal, I admit.
The place is full of little treasures, from plants and pots (there we go again, my plants addiction once more for the internet to see) to furniture and home decoration, and then clothes and accessories. In other words, it feels like a fancy thrift shop. The prices are quite high sometimes, but then again the items are always in a really good state, for what I’ve seen.
On Saturday the 16th of April they organized an actual Garage Sale, which could only mean one thing: Some of these beautiful things for really good prices! I had to check it out and I have to admit it was the best idea ever. They had moved all the things which were on sale outside, the weather was nice, and the people were searching through the piles of clothes and things, while Marle Thomson was playing her acoustic guitar. I arrived pretty late, which was both good and bad: Bad because all the really beautiful stuff was gone, good because what was left was being given away for free!
Bottom line, it was a cozy evening where people where having fun and were smiling a lot! I left in a good mood like last time I was there. So keep your eyes open for the next Garage Sale, or just drop by any day – Tony’s Garage Sale is a pop-up store, so we never know for how long it will still be there!
