The last ‘Glow in the Dark’ event
The very first big venue party I went to was in the Maassilo, in Rotterdam. Glow in the Dark was a special Rotterdam event held twice a year. And this last ‘Halloween’ edition was the final one. No more glowing in the dark corners in this old factory. It was an amazing opportunity I got to photograph this one. My first party and then closing it as a photographer was extra special.
Breeding ground for young talent
Glow in the dark offers a stepping stool for a lot of young artists. Besides that, Glow in the Dark targets a younger audience that most of the time experience their first big venue party vibe at Glow.
During the many sold-out parties in the past, many different big international artists have shown up at the events. This time the likes of Alle Farben (Germany), Deborah de Luca (Italy) and Nora en Pure (Switzerland) where spinning the docks at night.
Glowing in the Dark
The iconic thing about this event is the paints that are used, that glow in the dark under all the blacklights that are installed around the factory. In three different areas a total of 5.000 people are all glowing up in the dark. Not just the paint, also white shirt, your teeth and even… your eyeballs!
At Glow in the Dark there are a lot of people bursting out in dance moves and enjoying the music to the fullest.
The final edition of this event was the first one with a special theme. It so happens that Glow fell right before Halloween so the theme was already set. Here are some pictures of the creepiest and coolest outfits among the crowd.
