Wedding: Life, Love and longevity
This city’s moral is dropping, the cause is football. Feyenoord is almost done and out. The soul of Rotterdam is breaking and sweating, the weather seems somber…
But on this day the common soul celebrates life, love and longevity. While the engine mimicks the sound of Zeus on the street.
The thunder. The horse power that touches our senses. And I watch from afar – from the balcony.
Folks from all nooks and crannies, walking out their vehicles. Getting off their horses.
And I pace around. I can’t be upstairs, waiting for the magic to unfold.
I run downstairs with my camera. I want to be witness to this epic event. Rotterdam has the charm to show her flaws and beauty at the same time. I want to be there.
And I become a witness of great things. Now the engines are lukewarm, and Zeus watches beyond the frame. And Hera enters the scene. Everyone is celebrating life, love and longevity.
The groom is there to greet his bachelors. And they all congratulate each other like brothers not in blood, but in soul and sweat and tears.
They roar and clap and cry with happiness. (It eclipses the terrible loss of Feyenoord.)
Look at the horse of the shining knight.
Rotterdam, the city that I adore. I can feel her affection in my heart and bones.
